Anthony Flanagan

Qualified Physical Therapist

BSc., AHS. Ph. Th. MIAPT

As a former semi-professional footballer and senior club hurler I have first-hand experience of dealing with and overcoming injury. In fact my League of Ireland soccer career was ended by a fractured shin bone.

Professionally, I have diversified my experience to encompass the treatment and rehabilitation of high performance athletes, American footballers, etc. The greatest honour in my professional career to date has been the 2-year term served as head therapist to the All-Ireland winning Waterford minor team (above). I have worked extensively with inter-county and club teams across a range of sports, as well as elite individual athletes.

I have worked on research and educational projects, including the European Basketball Injury Prevention Study and the delivery of scientific seminars with Dr. Peter Francis. This intimate relationship with emerging research has helped me to keep abreast of the latest evidence-based medicine.
