ABOUT

Anthony Flanagan

CORU Registered Physiotherapist

BSc., AHS. Ph. Th. MIAPT

As a former semi-professional footballer and senior club hurler I have first-hand experience of dealing with and overcoming injury. In fact, my League of Ireland soccer career was ended by a fractured shin bone.

Professionally, I have diversified my experience to encompass the treatment and rehabilitation of high-performance athletes, as well as American footballers, among others.

The greatest honours in my professional career to date have been as head therapist to the All-Ireland-winning Waterford minor hurling team in 2013 and the All-Ireland-winning Deise Under-21 panel in 2016.

I have worked extensively with inter-county and club teams across a range of sports, as well as elite individual athletes.

I have worked on research and educational projects, including the European Basketball Injury Prevention Study and the delivery of scientific seminars with leading health lecturer Dr. Peter Francis. This intimate relationship with emerging research has helped me to keep abreast of the latest evidence-based medicine.
